The long, dark winters: Okay, November to February is a struggle. It gets dark at 3 PM, and everything feels gray. It’s a battle to stay motivated sometimes. Seasonal depression is too real here.
Small-town gossip: Everyone kinda knows everyone. Sometimes it feels like you can’t breathe without someone commenting on it. I love my country, but the small-mindedness in some people annoys me.

Hey! I’m Jeannie. I’m 18 and I live in Tallinn, Estonia. I was born right here, in this magical place where old town charm meets crazy-fast internet. I just graduated from high school last spring and currently I’m taking a “gap year” – but really, I’m just trying to figure out my next move. I’m torn between studying digital media (I love creating stuff! ) and maybe something with languages. Speaking of which, I’m native in Estonian and Russian, fluent in English from binge-watching shows, and I’m trying not to forget my school-level German. My life is a mix of forest and tech. One weekend I’m hiking in Lahemaa National Park with my friends, breathing in that pine-scented air, and the next I’m editing a video for my small YouTube channel or getting lost in a new indie game.
